Within the Strategy and Culture portfolio, Chancellery Marketing and Communications formulates and leads strategies in support of the University of Melbourne’s overarching strategic plan, Growing Esteem. It fosters a culture of best practice and collaboration across the University’s marketing functions and uses marketing insights to inform decision-making across the University.
As the Content Writer, you will be responsible for generating highly engaging content to research, industry, alumni, and donor audiences across multiple mediums and platforms, employing high-level storytelling techniques to bring the Melbourne brand proposition to life.

You will also be responsible for identification, production and curation of written content across publications and digital owned channels to support engagement activities via the delivery of integrated newsletters, eDMs and online publications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Curate and produce engaging content for use across printed/online publications and owned digital channels
  • Provide strong creative input, administrative coordination and planning skills across activities
  • Ideate, research and develop key pieces of editorial content
  • Coordinate, liaise and interview key stakeholders in the development of content pieces

You will have strong communication and reputation management skills, with the proven ability to build, establish and maintain relationships and manage multiple stakeholders.

You are collaborative while also being able to operate with independence in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment. You also use your creative thinking to challenge the status quo to deliver effective business outcomes, and work to a high ethical standard, always ensuring professionalism and confidentiality.

You will also have:

  • Work experience within relevant marketing and communications field and tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, finance, business or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Experience writing and producing content for a range of channels to support the delivery of integrated marketing communications programs
  • Demonstrated experience with producing content for various publication channels
  • An excellent track record in executing projects
