This opportunity within EY, in the unique and fast-growing area of Transaction Analytics, leverages data to derive insights through a commercial lens and has the potential to impact decisions in both buy- and sell-side M&A Transactions. We provide data-driven solutions aimed to enhance our clients’ decision making during financial due diligence.
- You will join an established team of forward-thinking analytics professionals who:
- Have core competencies across data analytics, finance, accounting, and consulting
- Are comfortable wrangling together multiple large datasets on a day-to-day basis
- Understand the detailed nuances of datasets while maintaining one eye on the relevance and alignment to key commercial themes for the business at hand
- Maintain analytical grit while progressing through the team via a path of commercial acumen over technology stacks and computational prowess
- Support our clients’ decisions through storytelling, translating analysis into strategic insights regarding business performance and growth
To be successful you will have:
An undergraduate or graduate degree that provides a strong basis in either a quantitative, analytical or commercial discipline, such as accounting, finance, economics, business or data analytics
- Approximately 1 to 3 years of related work experience with a demonstrated aptitude for numerical reasoning and quantitative analysis
- An ability to work with high performing individuals from a combination of both commerce and technology backgrounds
- Excellent financial, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- A desire to work in the fast-paced Transaction Diligence mergers and acquisitions-oriented environment
- An innovative mindset that also maintains focus on fit-for-purpose solutions
- Strong work initiative and the ability to be agile from day to do and adapt to new challenges and ideas
- A willingness to learn, or existing familiarity with, tools/applications across data management, data visualisation and analytics, including:
- Power BI (including advanced DAX) / Tableau / Spotfire / etc.
- Alteryx / SQL / Azure / etc.
- Python / R / SAS / etc.
- Excel / VBA / PowerPivot / PowerQuery / etc
