Conceptual Designer

We have an exciting opening for a talented mid-weight Conceptual Designer to join the Leo Burnett network in Sydney.

 

You will be responsible for quality assurance on all design work to ensure brand consistency and the best execution of creative concepts. This is a fully integrated role, requiring you to concept and produce innovative and effective design solutions across all outputs.

 

You will be a versatile team player with a positive mindset and the ambition to deliver best in class craft as you bring cross-channel campaign elements to life. You will be supported by a brilliant Creative and Design department, who are passionate about the work, love good craft, and genuinely care about each other.

As a Conceptual Designer, you’ll get to:

 

  • Work closely with Creative teams and other disciplines within the agency, as well as clients and stakeholders to bring well-crafted cross-channel campaign elements to life.
  • Concept and produce effective design solutions across all channels and contribute to conceptual ideas as required.
  • Design layouts and compelling presentation decks according to guidelines set out by the agency and client.
  • Determine style, technique, and medium best suited to organisation promotion strategies.
  • Create a brand’s visual identity including illustrations, typography, logos, and other visual assets on new design projects as required.

 

The person we’re looking for is/has:

 

  • A compelling design portfolio, that shows excellent understanding of design principles and great craft (applications must include a portfolio of creative work).
  • 4+ years’ experience in a creative/advertising agency within a design, craft and/or creative department.
  • Some experience working with financial services/insurance brands (desirable, not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • A strong appetite to create award-winning creative work that pushes our clients and your colleagues.
  • A versatile and enthusiastic collaborator, with a strong willingness to learn, and a growth mindset.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple design projects and timelines.
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude, resilience and ability to be calm under pressure.
  • Good understanding of photography, typography, digital/social and print and not afraid of exploring unconventional design strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing and design principles.
  • In depth knowledge of artwork print prep and set up for digital outputs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work fast, work to deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • A strong commitment to the needs of all clients and their brands and be passionate about delivering the best work to them.
  • Experience working in an agile environment and be comfortable with a fluid and flexible approach.
  • Understanding and experience presenting concepts and proposals.
  • A keen interest in design, culture, technology, and innovation.
