  • Teaching qualifications and successful teaching experience within the K-12 range.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the professional standards and accreditation processes and capacity to coordinate accreditation processes with staff
  • Excellent liaison, negotiation, conflict resolution and team building skills across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and the capacity to apply these to a wide range of reports, submissions and strategic planning
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of curriculum, professional practice, policies, relevant legislation, initiatives and current research in education
  • Demonstrated successful leadership of staff professional learning and the capacity to develop staff through the implementation of the Performance Development Framework
  • High level ability to manage multiple commitments within tight timeframes in a complex and politically sensitive environment
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate educational programs, provisions and resources
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
