Communications Officer

 

Description:

The Marketing and Communications Officer partners with internal and external stakeholders to provide high level Marketing and Communications advice. This role specifically partners with the Education, Learning & Assessment directorate, with a particular focus on marketing Education changes to Fellows, trainees and other stakeholders is a key requirement of this position.

The Marketing and Communications Officer n is a member of the Marketing and Communications team, but works closely with the Executive General Manager, Education, Learning & Assessment and Education Managers to ensure all education stakeholders are aware of the Education Renewal program, and are supporters.

The role is responsible for:

  • Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the College and externally.
  • Delivering consistent strategic advice and insight to ensure marketing and communications activities are impactful.
  • Work closely with the Education Directorate to plan, lead and support communication activities and projects in line with the rollout of Education Renewal.
  • Provide high quality and timely Marketing and Communications advice and support as required.
  • Identify and respond to other marketing or communication needs of the College if required.
  • Adjust materials, content and delivery channels to meet the Education Directorates needs and best-practice.
  • Provide clear briefs and work closely with external agencies and suppliers as required.
  • Contribute to the smooth-running of a high functioning and successful team

 

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Marketing & Communications, in addition to the following skills and attributes:

  • 5+ years of experience working within similar scope and responsibilities
  • You’re an expert at quickly writing accurate, sharply focused copy.
  • You excel at taking complex concepts and refining them into short, friendly and accessible messaging.
  • You might have had experience in either an education, scientific or health sector communications role, but it’s not essential.
  • You’re good at persuading other stakeholders that large amounts of detail and a lot of information may not always aid understanding.
  • And you cope well under pressure and are able to juggle multiple priorities.
