Cox Inall Ridgeway is an Indigenous Social Change Agency; we deliver services around specialist public relations, communication campaigns, program development and research.

Founded in 2007, we combine ancient knowledge and strong, continuing cultural values with modern practice to enable social change. We operate between the silos of Government, corporates and communities to deliver results. We enable strong relationships between Indigenous peoples, Governments and corporations. We see ourselves as ‘tightrope warriors’ traversing the space between these groups, creating positive outcomes and lasting social change.

Examples of this include working in health promotion, media outreach for Indigenous press, organisational reviews and Corporate Social Responsibility for corporates.

Together, our team have skills and backgrounds in politics, government policy and media, journalism, marketing, health policy and promotion, project management, research, community engagement and graphic design.

Position Indigenous Community Communications Consultant. 

This is an identified role and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are strongly encouraged to apply.  

Role purpose By building and fostering a strong understanding of Indigenous communities around specific issues, you will help to develop more beneficial and effective communications campaigns.

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Help broker relationships between Indigenous communities, Government and Corporate clients to produce the best results
  • Manage and support a group of clients with a truly diverse range of projects from community-focused events to media and stakeholder relations
  • Help inform and design the implementation of communication campaigns on behalf of Government and Corporate agency clients

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to, or keen to learn to, confidently write for a range of audiences including through developing social media plans, communication strategies, communication materials for key stakeholders, website copy, reports, field notes and media releases
  • Graduate from TAFE or Uni with a Communications or Marketing background. Ideally 1 yr+ experience working in a community, Government or corporate role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities
  • Strong project management and administration skills with excellent attention to detail
  • An ability to maintain understanding of Indigenous cultural issues and their application across project activities
  • The passion and drive to work independently and in a team and work effectively under pressure
