Description:
The Communications Change Lead will be part of a team that is responsible for planning, developing and implementing the communications strategy and communications artefacts to support changes taking place across UNSW, as a result of recommendations made in the Review of the Management of Complaints and Investigations Across UNSW ('the Review'). The Communications Change Lead will play a critical role on the project in identifying impacted audiences and designing communication approaches to best communicate the changes.
Responsibilities
- Work with relevant project specialists to develop and coordinate a tailored communications program.
- Oversee and finalise effective communications to inform and support impacted stakeholders through the introduction of changes to policy, processes and procedures as a result of the Review.
- Manage and develop communications artefacts across various traditional and digital communication mediums, tailoring to impacted stakeholders’ preferences where required, working closely with UNSW’s internal communication team to ensure consistency.
- Produce high quality communications deliverables and ensure change execution activities are delivered within set timeframes.
- Analyse and report on content trends, identify issues and risks as part of preparing stakeholders to become ‘ready, willing and able’ to accept and adopt changes.
- Consult and work collaboratively with key stakeholders and utilise subject matter expertise to develop and deliver relevant educational materials.
- In collaboration with project specialists, coordinate and facilitate meetings, workshops and training delivery with key personnel, impacted stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Build and maintain highly effective working relationships with key UNSW and external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience
- A relevant tertiary degree with subsequent experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience in a relevant discipline.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work autonomously with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams across all levels of the University
- Demonstrated experience in designing and applying fit-for-purpose change & communications approaches and deliverables.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to navigate through competing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a people-orientated approach, and the proven ability to effectively influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in distilling complex information into straight forward messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders, in support of strategic goals.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
