Communications And Outreach Advisor

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Communications and Outreach Advisor to join the Research Communications and Outreach team at Swinburne University.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Research Communications, the Communications and Outreach Advisor will be responsible for implementing and supporting a wide range of communication and outreach activities for Swinburne’s three flagship initiatives. The successful applicant will have excellent stakeholder manage and communication skills in order to support the communication strategy, and also creating engaging and impactful content.

• Experience in the development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies
• Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate information in a clear manner, draft correspondence, respond to ad-hoc requests for information and advice, well-developed editing, and proof-reading skills
• Demonstrated high level verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with all levels internally and externally in a professional manner
• Experience in writing for the web, including understanding correct formatting conventions and online language, plus knowledge and understanding of traditional and digital communication channels
• A degree in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. eg Communication Design or Media and Communication
