Primary objective

Assist in the development and implementation of communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities to assist

people in understanding their obligations under the legislation administered by NT WorkSafe.

Context statement

NT WorkSafe is responsible for assisting businesses and workers understand their obligations under work health and safety,

dangerous goods, electrical safety, and rehabilitation and workers compensation laws in the Northern Territory. This position

supports the Communication Manager to provide communication and marketing services and requires high attention to

detail, the ability to work within a small team and work independently when required.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and communication activities in consultation with the

Communications Manager.

2. Assist with the coordination and management of internal and external NT WorkSafe events, including national events

such as National Safe Work Month, as well as providing onsite event support such as venue setup and pack-down,

managing registrations, liaising with presenters and/or suppliers and handling any enquiries.

3. Coordinate the publishing, advertising and media monitoring requirements of NT WorkSafe.

4. Assist with the drafting, editing and publishing of content, including news items, incident information releases, safety

alerts and videos on NT WorkSafe’s digital platforms.

5. Establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

6. Provide support to other NT WorkSafe business units as required.
