Description:

The Commercialisation Analyst role is embedded in a senior team in the Innovation & Enterprise Portfolio that works on the origination, execution and post-deal management of commercial transactions. Transactions involve the full range of university-industry partnership, including sponsored or collaborative research, new ventures, consulting, innovation services, and IP licensing. These transactions are aimed at creating economic, social and environmental impact in accordance with Swinburne’s Horizon 2025 strategy.

The analyst role comprises both market analysis for strategic opportunities, as well as internal analysis of the Swinburne innovation pipeline and portfolio. The analyst will undertake data collection, data management, advanced analytics and modelling to provide reporting and intelligence for a range of purposes. This includes monitoring performance of commercial activities and programs, developing insights, participating in transaction teams, and data submission as requested for internal and external requirements.

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Highly developed communication skills to deliver complex information in understandable and digestible formats, including dashboards, compelling tables and graphics.
  • High level of commercial and financial acumen, especially for early stage companies.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to apply these qualities in a professional context.
  • Understanding of the research commercialisation value chain and experience working in the higher education sector.
  • Experience in undertaking market and investor analysis, assemble data, draw conclusions and add value to commercial transactions.
