Commercial Finance Analyst

 

Description:

This role will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance Manager through the development, tracking, reporting and analysis of the Technology, Digital & Data capex budget.

You will partner with the senior leaders, by understanding the drivers that impact the business and use insights to support effective decisions that are aligned to our strategic direction to drive long term profitability.

What is the role?

  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager in managing capex budget, financial modelling on business cases and managing end to end project financials in Planview
  • Form collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, divisional finance teams (in particular the Investment Management team) and business partners
  • Ongoing monitoring of project financial performance through deep dive analysis on variances against business case and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Provide input into reporting packs for the senior leadership team
  • Support the delivery of accurate, relevant and timely execution of annual budget, quarterly forecasts and monthly rolling forecast cycles
  • Identify process and efficiency improvements that will benefit the business and implement in partnership with your stakeholders
  • Some month end activities - journal entries, accruals, preparation of month end files, partner with the business, perform variance analysis and provide commentary for reporting
  • Serve as a key contact for Technology, Digital & Data including answering finance related queries and ad hoc requests
  • With minimal supervision, work in a collaborative and constructive manner with internal stakeholders and various business units to complete tasks with time sensitive deadlines

Who are you ?

  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • 2-3+ years experience in a similar role - experience in delivering budgets and forecasts
  • Excellent financial acumen, ideally with experience in project accounting and business case financial modelling
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork and conflict resolutions skills, as well as planning capabilities and presentation skills
  • Self starter and positive team player.
  • Resilient with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Working knowledge of TM1, Tableau tools, Planview (or similar)
