Collections Officer

 

Description:

Our client is looking for a customer focused individual to join their Collections team on a full time permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for building relationships with customers, and working to support them through their financial journey with the goal of helping them get back to a financially stable situation.

This position requires empathy and resilience, strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to adhere to the collections process and procedures. In this position you will display the importance of fair and appropriate treatment of vulnerable customers and align with the organisation's values of being people focused.

Reporting Directly To The Collections Team Leader, You'll Be
 

  • Managing early arrears portfolio end to end with a focus on secured and unsecured loans
  • Early stage skip tracing, where required
  • Making suitable arrangements with customers as per our credit policy
  • Monitoring financial hardship, variations, bankrupts and defaults register
  • Responding to inbound collections queries
  • Following up on broken payment arrangements and renegotiating new arrangements
  • Providing customers with solutions to their queries
     

About You
 

  • A strong understanding of credit and collections regulations
  • Extraordinary verbal communication ability and powers of persuasion
  • Superb organisation and attention to detail
  • Empathetic by nature to ensure the best care to our customers
  • The ability to work autonomously, think on your feet and work in an evolving work environment dealing with complex enquiries
