Description:
Under new leadership and with a new strategy, we are increasing our focus on cloud, redefining the platform capabilities, and establishing product offerings for engineering and application teams to consume. We’re looking to grow our automation capabilities and encourage adoption of well architected principles to accelerate speed to market, improve resilience and optimise costs.
At the most fundamental level, this team delivers the cloud platform as product for our development teams to consume. The scope of that includes:
- Assess new provider capabilities and enable on our platform as required
- Work with Architecture teams to define and then implement security and service control policies to provide the guard rails within which our development teams have autonomy to move with agility.
- Management and administration of Identity and Access Management systems and onboarding processes
- Design and implement landing zones for deployment of internal workloads, leveraging automation and infrastructure as code principles
- Manage technology lifecycle, and maintain the standards for evergreen currency of operating systems and tooling
- Manage compliance by enforcing practices such as tagging, regular backups and patching.
- Ensure high platform availability to support a 24/7 business through platform monitoring and proactive management
- Provide FinOps services including analysis, reporting and recommendations for items such as power management, right sizing and auto scaling
- Work with cloud and application vendors to solve complex technical issues and rapidly resolve incidents
- Consult and advise application and support teams on well architected principles and best practices based on real world experience
- Data Centre to Cloud migration planning and support
- Being advocates for cloud, lead community of interest groups and cloud learning programs
- Influence Tabcorp’s cloud direction and strategy to “do it right”
Cloud Platforms is a new team in Tabcorp, so opportunities exist for people with varying levels of experience. We are looking for people that are bright, motivated and want to work with like-minded people. We are happy for you to bring your friends along!
The skills that we think are important for success in this team include:
- Cloud certifications, minimum Associate level but Professional would be well regarded
- Hands on exposure to AWS as a builder, other cloud platforms (GCP/Azure) are beneficial but not essential
- Strong experience with cloud management and automation tools eg Terraform & CloudFormation
- Exposure to configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet and Ansible
- Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices and agile ways of working.
- Skills in cloud networking and security frameworks
- Able to provide support on-call and for peak customer events such as Spring Racing Carnival
- Working knowledge of tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Cloud Bolt, Cloudability or Kumolus
- Can do attitude and a desire to drive continuous improvement and efficiency
- Willingness to learn and further develop your own skills along with those around you
