Cloud Engineer

Description:

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information. We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities.

WaterNSW is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud architecture of WaterNSW, ensuring the cloud environment is secure, cost effective, meets business need, and aligns with WaterNSW strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical leadership through advice and review of proposed cloud solution architectures and processes to implement and maintain solutions
• Drive implementation of cloud best practices including Microsoft’s well architected framework, cost management and infrastructure as code.
• Develop, operate and manage Microsoft cloud infrastructure and technology such as Kubernetes, micro services, identity, security, monitoring, connectivity, storage, virtual machines, IOT, automation, Power platform, API and DevOps.
• Work in partnership with various stakeholders, at all levels within WaterNSW including Executives and with industry partners on developing new solutions for innovative projects.
• Collaborate with WaterNSW cloud solution developers to ensure solutions are correctly developed and sustained
• Lead the implementation of continual improvement ideas for cloud-based solutions across the business to reduce risk and maintain currency with industry best practice
