Description:
Medical education and teaching across the continuum from undergraduate to pre-vocational trainees. Development of a teaching program in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Training in accordance with the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors. Support ongoing accreditation by Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania (PMCT) of the Launceston general Hospital (LGH) teaching and training program. Enhance the process of transition from medical student to doctor. Assist in the preparation of candidates for relevant clinical examinations. Assist in the clinical input and development of the LGH Observer Program.
- Undertake face-to-face medical education and training junior doctors
- Assist with development and completion of learning modules eg online resources, Teaching on the Run, clinical handbooks, and Simulated Training.
- Assist with the development and completion of learning modules eg online resources, Teaching on the Run, clinical handbooks and Simulated Training across
- Assist with the development of tutorials, teaching opportunities across the LGH.
- Participate and assist in accreditation activities for PMCT including support for handover, orientation, and ongoing performance assessments.
- Assist in training programs relevant to College requirements for pre-vocational trainees (eg Basic Physician Trainee).
- Continue to evolve the role of Clinical Medical Educator in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Training, PMCT and Colleges.
- Assist in the monitoring and remediation of junior medical officer performance, including working with the Director of Clinical Training and Medical Education Advisor.
- Become involved in training for Supervisors and mentors in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Training and Medical Education Officer.
- Participate as a member of the General Clinical Education Committee.
