Southern covers a large area of the state, from Goulburn and Crookwell to the Victorian border, and surrounds the ACT on three sides. The Coastal network covers both Moruya and Bega. The Eurobodalla Health Service is located in the Yuin Nation on the beautiful south coast of NSW. It is a networked service spread over three campuses, with two hospitals co-located with community health, Moruya and Batemans Bay, and a standalone community health centre in Narooma collocated with the library. The NSW Government has announced $260 million to build in Moruya, a sustainable, modern and purpose-built hospital to support the needs of the entire Eurobodalla Shire from Narooma to Batemans Bay to service the ever-growing coastal population. This new facility is expected to open to patients in 2025.
South East Regional Hospital- Bega opened it’s doors in 2016 and boasts beautiful country side views which are aesthetically pleasing for any work environment. South East Regional Hospital offers an emergency department, medical and surgical inpatient beds, a Level 3 maternity service, Level 3 paediatric unit, a critical care unit with 24-hour registrar cover, 3 operating theatres including day surgery, with significant community-based services including renal dialysis services and outpatient cancer medicine services. South East Regional Hospital also offers an inpatient mental health unit and sub-acute rehabilitation unit. In September 2022 a state-of-the-art standalone medical simulation centre will open.

South East Regional Hospital is in Bega - 429 kilometres south of Sydney, 228 kilometres from Canberra or 174 kilometres from the NSW Snow fields and 20 minutes from the coast. Nearby Merimbula (32 kilometres) offers a regional airport with a short 55-minute flight to Sydney and daily flights to Melbourne. To provide high quality Clinical Haematology services in Eurobodalla and Bega and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
