Alongside this, you will be responsible for proactively and effectively manage all aspects of caseloads of worker’s compensation claims within the SA legislation and compliance guidelines. The purpose of this role is to provide early, timely and personal service to workers, employers, stakeholders and support networks whilst providing an empathetic customer experience through a deep technical specialisation in complex claims.

  • Pro-actively proceed with appropriate case management to achieve the optimum outcome of early sustainable return to work for workers with reasonable claim costs.
  • Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders regularly to progress strategies and actions.
  • Assess aspects of liability and recovery relevant to the legislation or policy, in accordance with EML procedures if required.
  • Undertake ongoing reviews in relation to entitlements, payments and medical expenses.
  • Proactively manage rehabilitation providers and approval of rehabilitation plans/wellness plans in accordance with guidelines.
  • Conduct health promotion activities to enhance the injured worker’s wellbeing and empower them to participate in their own treatment and recovery.
  • Ensure claims files are accurately and professionally updated on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of the relevant worker’s compensation legislation and regulations is considered beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Empathy and understanding for others.
  • The ability to effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work.
