Helix Engineering is a new and rapidly expanding engineering consultancy. We provide engineered solutions and project management services across multiple industries throughout Australia. Due to an increase in workload, we are looking for a Civil/Structural Designer with oil and gas experience, to join us.
MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN AUSTRALIA.
Primary Functions
- Responsible for the execution of design work assigned by the Project Manager or Lead Civil / Structural Engineer;
- Ensure that project objectives assigned by the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer are achieved;
- Ensure that work carried out meets project schedule and defined scope;
- Originate or check design drawings in accordance with the client’s specifications, relevant Australian / International standards, codes and location regulations;
- Take responsibility for the correctness and quality of work and when required seek advice from within the Company when necessary.
Competencies
- Self-motivation to work independently with limited supervision in a project orientated environment;
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience with a sound background in structural steel structures, reinforced concrete foundations for static equipment, piping systems and rotating/reciprocating machines;
- Knowledge of piling foundation design and construction highly regarded;
- Oil and gas industry project experience for onshore process plants
- Mining/materials handling facilities’ civil/structural design highly regarded;
- Demonstrated track record as lead/senior civil/structural designer on feasibility studies, FEED and detailed design projects
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, time management, team management, team building;
- Thorough knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, International standards, codes of practice and legislation/regulations that are generally applicable for civil/structural design works;
- Experience with software packages such as 3D modelling, AutoCAD 2D/3D, Microsoft Office
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $98,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
