Description:
The office of Chief Executive Officer has recently been established to work closely with the Board, leading innovation and change in advancing priority waste and resource recovery for Tasmania through the development and implementation of waste, resource recovery and circular economy policies and programs.
The Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board is established under the Waste and Resource Recovery Act 2022 and plays a major role in advising Government on the direction for waste management, resource recovery, and the Circular Economy in Tasmania. The Board is supported by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania and is an important part of the Government’s policy to reduce waste going to landfill and increase resource recovery.
About the role
The office of Chief Executive Officer has recently been established to work closely with the Board, leading innovation and change in advancing priority waste and resource recovery for Tasmania through the development and implementation of waste, resource recovery and circular economy policies and programs.
The role will take a lead in driving transformational change and in creating an operating environment that enables the execution of the Board's strategic priorities and vision, by supporting the implementation of waste and resource recovery programs, projects, support, grants programs and assistance packages, as part of the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy and other initiatives.

Your consultative, collaborative and innovative approach is supported by your highly developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, as well as your financial and commercial acumen to understand complex information and develop strategies that have impact and drive change.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstration of an equivalent level of skills together with a proven record of executive leadership are also desirable.
