MEGT is an Australia wide not-for-profit organisation which has been supporting employers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers for 40 years. With a head office in Melbourne and over 600 employees, as well as more than 1,100 apprentices and trainees, MEGT are committed to providing quality employment and training solutions that make a difference.
As CEO, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team and implementing MEGT’s long-term strategies whist providing high-level advice on operations, policy and planning in conjunction with the board. You will drive MEGT’s expansion and sustainable growth while continuing to build its reputation, impact and public profile. You will also be responsible for ensuring business is always conducted in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with the company’s core values.
The CEO will be an inspirational leader with proven commercial experience and an entrepreneurial approach. You are someone who values people and engages with them to deliver on MEGT’s strategic plan and continues to build the company’s inclusive and high performing culture. You will communicate with impact, bring well developed interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-awareness, with an ability to influence stakeholders across industry and State/Territory and Federal Governments.

The CEO is required to establish and maintain strong relationships with elected representatives, senior public servants, industry and community leaders within each sector, and media representatives. By nurturing these relationships, you will maintain a highly developed understanding of government and industry requirements and be well placed to advise the Board on emerging trends and issues and recommend appropriate responses.

With the rate of digital change transforming the work of MEGT and its clients – the proven ability to think outside the box, embrace new ideas and innovation will be critical.

As a results-driven professional, you will have significant senior executive experience in leading contemporary organisational development initiatives and have proven financial and strategic acumen.

  • Contemporary leader who inspires, motivates and harnesses individual capabilities
  • Exceptional communicator and ability to undertake high level representations
  • Ability to provide independent advice to the Board
  • Industry knowledge will be an advantage, and
  • Prior experience leading successful mergers and acquisitions will be highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualification in business management or equivalent is preferred.
  • Leadership experience in a similar sized organisation.
