Argyle Group was established in 2007 & specialises in the management of investments in Australian water rights, farmland, agribusiness, agricultural supply chain infrastructure and private equity farmland operations. Argyle has cultivated a range of institutional investment mandates since 2010.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive management position oversees the financial management of Argyle’s corporate and funds business. This includes all Fund Management Operations, Finance, Risk and Procurement.

The role is primarily responsible for company-wide corporate financial and statutory reporting; corporate financial management; and resource management of the fund accounting functions. The role supports the Chief Executive Officer in Board and Committee reporting. This position will assist in advancing the change agenda of the organisation and will also play a key role in collaborating with senior management in implementing, monitoring, and reviewing organisational strategy. This includes ensuring collaboration beyond individual portfolios, particularly in carrying out organisational improvement initiatives and risk management processes.

This role requires the management and leadership of direct reports within the Finance team. The CFO will also indirectly oversee finance staff who report to the Investment Director. The role is an integral member of the executive leadership team which leads and manages the business. As such the CFO is required to provide effective input, advice and guidance into the operational and strategic decision making for the business.

You will bring tertiary qualifications in relevant studies, and a post graduate CA, CPA or CFA. It is expected you will have previous experience leading a finance or corporate services / operations services function in a medium sized enterprise. You will be a natural leader of people and have significant experience managing teams across various verticals and be able to demonstrate prior experience and success in the delivery of work plans, to assist in the achievement of organisational strategic plans.

This is a diverse and fast paced role that would suit either a candidate taking on their first CFO opportunity and/or someone who likes to be both hands on and strategic. You will be highly commercial in your approach and be an expert communicator in both written and verbal forms, and be capable of dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders including the ability to prepare high levels reports to Executives and Boards. It would be an advantage to have previous experience from investments or funds management industries.
