The Technical Assistant – Equine supports teachers and students at practical equine training to ensure safety of all students and provide expertise in horse husbandry as part of the Certificate II in Equine Studies.

The Equine Technical Officer is a member of the VET in Schools, Science and Animal Studies team within the Faculty of Health, Community & Life Sciences. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the BHI and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including Ayr Hill Equestrian staff and other Equine Industry Groups.

• Relevant industry experience is essential
• Current Level 2 First Aid
• AQF II or above qualification in an Equine field and/or a Coaching accreditation is desirable
