Casual Mental Health Support Worker

Description:

We are seeking a casual Mental Health Support Worker to join our supportive team here at Wellways Australia. Reporting to the Program Manager & Team Leaders of HASI South Western Sydney, you will work with the team to provide direct support to participants within the Wellways practice frameworks. This role involves ensuring reporting is completed regularly aligned with our funding agreement.

• ESSENTIAL: Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, or Community Services, or able to demonstrate working toward these qualifications (i.e. proof of enrolment).
• DESIREABLE : Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with people in their mental health recovery
• DESIRABLE: Previous work experience in HASI or CLS.
• A strong team player who can work autonomously
• Well-developed emotional intelligence, personal resilience, and the ability to self-reflect
• Highly developed literacy, communication, and interpersonal skills with well-developed administration skills
• Experience in working with diverse groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) people, refugee groups and LGBTIQ groups will be highly regarded
• A current and valid Driver’s License
• Satisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old] and Working with Children Check, prior to commencement
• NDIS Workers Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
• Evidence of up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 (including at least 1 booster vaccination) or valid medical exemption
