Description:

The Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing (CAS) is dedicated to inspiring a fascination of the universe through research and education. As the Centre Coordinator, you will coordinate research-related and general administrative activities for the Centre. These activities include but are not limited to providing meeting, event and scheduling coordination for Centre staff and Director, along with managing administrative activities associated with the core business of the Centre.

Reporting to the Director, Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing, you will be required to have a proactive approach in planning, improving processes and providing advice regarding administration, financials and policy in line with University processes and procedures, and will be responsible for ensuring consistency across administrative practices within the Centre.

The CAS Centre Coordinator can expect to work within the Centre and draw on infrastructure present in the Schools and work on University-wide initiatives from time to time.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, liaise and work with people at all levels, both internal and external to the University with tact, maturity, and appreciation of sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrated high level of confidential detailed administrative support to senior management.
  • Highly proficient computer skills, in particular the use of Zoom, MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, data management systems and database applications. Knowledge and familiarity with Mac OS computing systems and Google office suite software would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration.
  • Well-developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies, strategies, and procedures within a complex environment.
