Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join us and and play an integral role in developing, coordinating and delivering career development learning within the curriculum across the University.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of face-to-face and digital career services targeting the career readiness of students within work integrated learning (WIL) units and other curriculum-based career development learning, and will provide up-to-date career development and employability support through partnerships with Schools and other business units in the University.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager (WIL), you will be part of a strategic WIL project team and be required to collaborate with various stakeholders (e.g. project team members, Employability Team career consultants, School-based academic staff, learning experience designers) to deliver on the Transforming WIL strategic project. The role has a dotted reporting line to the Team Leader, Career Services and will work within the Career Development team on a regular basis to achieve these goals.
There are nine strategic work packages as part of Swinburne’s WIL Transformation program, and this role will take a development-focused role in Work Package 1 -Curriculum design and development and Work Package 2 - Educator support and professional learning for curriculum implementation and delivery. The role will support other curriculum-based career development learning, including curricular instances of the Professional Purpose Program. This role may also contribute expertise to the achievement of deliverables within other WIL transformation work packages and support the Career Services team with delivery of existing careers and employability services to students as needed.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of career development theories and frameworks with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively through design and delivery of activities to foster learner career capabilities.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and delivering career development learning at scale within the disciplinary curriculum at different stages of the student lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective career development activities online and face-to-face, which respond to a diverse range of student and client needs.
  • Experience in developing and delivering educator professional learning experiences to build their careers education capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, manage and develop relationships with schools and academic partners to design and deliver in curriculum career development learning.
  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Post graduate qualification in Career Development Practice.
  • Membership of a CICA member association at professional or associate level.
