The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. The Networks and Assets Branch looks after the assets that connect our communities and their purpose is to make regional and outer metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit. This role will allow you to develop your skills and gain exposure to types of work that you just won't find anywhere else.
About the team – Maintenance & Delivery
Maintenance and Delivery West are part of the Network and Assets Branch. This team is an internal delivery partner for construction and maintenance projects that concern road and bridge assets within the West Region Transport Network. We require the collective skillset of professional engineers to lead teams in the successful delivery of construction and maintenance programs to high level safety, quality and efficiency requirements.
We need to be agile, creative, and innovative to deliver the sustainable solutions necessary for a resilient network. We lead diverse teams that are geographically dispersed and with varying specialist skillsets.
Our workbook ranges from technically challenging construction projects and responsive routine maintenance programs that ensure that connections between remote communities are enhanced, safe and accessible for our customers.
The Opportunity
Right now, we have an Full time opportunity for a Business Support Manager to join us in the Maintenance & Delivery team The Business Support Manager ensures the ongoing efficiency of delivery of Regional Maintenance Delivery services, including the management of the appropriateness and integrity of procurement and contracts, fleet management and financial structures and data, the accuracy and completeness of monthly reporting, the development and implementation of business plans, budgets and business development initiatives and for the analysis and improvement of business performance. The position has 6 direct reports.

Some of the key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide advice, technical expertise and operational support to the unit and the division’s main functions on a wide variety of business matters, including but not limited to; contracts and procurement, HR and establishment, fleet oversight and coordination and finance.
  • Coordinate business planning processes for the unit, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives.
  • Lead the business support functions for the section to ensure alignment with corporate, division and branch strategies and initiatives including collection and reporting of business performance information.
  • Contribute to the sound financial management for the unit/ branch including planning, budgeting, reporting and control.
  • Demonstrate the Transport Connected Leadership dimensions by role modelling collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate our diverse workforce, create an environment where people can create and thrive, and support our people’s wellbeing
