My client is excited to announce a new job opportunity for a Business Development Manager to drive the development of the Nutraceutical and functional food market and lead their established sales team base from ideally SYD, although, can be located in other cities at the role is a home office-based role.

The Role

Working with both established customers in NSW, QLD & VIC and developing new accounts, you will network across all levels of customer organisations and points of the market. You will use your extensive market knowledge of Functional Food and Nutraceutical ingredients, combined with refined sales experience to partner with your customers, providing solutions to drive their growth through the deployment of value-adding innovative products. You will demonstrate a strong commercial acumen to relate to market trends and mutual opportunity development, and be highly confident with technical product subject matter to discuss key elements of ingredients, chemicals and finished products.

This role will interest an individual with a desire to play a pivotal role in the continual growth of a highly successful business. Focusing on market development via customer relationship management, pro-active sales engagement and identification of market opportunities for both established and new products. You will be at the forefront of the continual progression of our product range, enhancing the local market place with new entrants and challenger brands alike.

Main responsibilities will include -

  • Development and implementation of sales strategies for the nutraceutical and functional food markets
  • Maintaining excellence in customer service (quotes, pricing and technical advice) across all areas of the territory and in doing so deliver sales revenue and gross profit targets
  • Pro-active engagement with current and new customers and brand sponsors to optimise market opportunities
  • Confidence to present and discuss technical and commercial matters and new product concepts to purchasing and new product development/technical contacts
  • Leadership of a team of Account Managers, both to enhance their development and optimise their contribution
  • Engagement with key accounts for major supplier multinationals
  • Work closely with marketing and product sourcing teams to communicate market demands and anticipated trends
  • Regular travel interstate.

You will have a passionate interest in innovative products, particularly within the nutraceutical and functional food markets. You will be driven to create market development opportunities, seeking out new customers across the Australian marketplace. You will strive continually to engage with trend-leading products in anticipation of future demands.

Your energy and vision will be complimented by a proven successful background in Sales and Business Development as well as appropriate tertiary qualifications, Degree level preferred.
