This role will be a part of the Sales Department at Banksmeadow, reporting to the Branch Manager, searching for new clients in the Australian market, establishing a relationship and developing growth, and handling customer service tasks and operations while reporting and assisting relevant stakeholders.

You will be responsible for the following:

Business development

  • Obtain new clients at a profitable level
  • Engage with clients continuously to understand new opportunities and develop existing opportunities in the Australian market
  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets monthly
  • Make a minimum of 20 legitimate calls per month, then deliver a monthly calendar to the Branch Manager.

Operations and Customer Service

  • Set up and update customer profiles by liaising with operation and customer service stakeholders
  • Update CONCERTO weekly based on sales calls
  • Ensure new complete credit applications and follow up on the process of approval with the accounts department
  • Answer overseas freight tenders e-mails and letters within the specified timeframe
  • Respond to both existing and new client requests
  • Assist accounting staff in resolving any client financial disputes

Reporting

  • Submit previous week's activity reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Assist the Branch Manager with the preparation of the yearly Sales budget

Desirable:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sales-driven and have a goal-oriented approach
  • Basic financial knowledge, preferably in profitability and margins
  • Ability to think laterally and create effective solutions to problems
  • Conflict resolution skills
