Our national Client & Market Growth team is a high performing, critical component of the firm and essential to MinterEllison's success. The team supports the partnership by providing the full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager for a 12 month parental leave contract to drive the business development and marketing strategy for one of our priority industry groups – Education. This position is open to either Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra or Perth with hybrid working available.

The Role

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support the strategic development of the education industry plan, incorporating both national and international components. The industry plan encompasses a focus on clients, people and the community, aligned with the firm's 2025 ambition.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Education Industry Leader, a community of education industry partners, consultants and lawyers, and the CMG shared services team.
  • Build-out the education sub sector focus (Higher education, Vocational Education & Training, Schools and Early Learning) to support industry positioning and growth.
  • Help to deliver key marketing campaigns, working alongside our Brand and Marketing team to develop and deliver on the education industry go-to-market plan ensuring linkages and integration with key relationships and account development activities.
  • Play a lead or supporting role on industry related projects and solution development to further develop MinterEllison's market positioning.
  • Establish both internal and external networks and create strong connectivity in a matrix structure to optimise cross-cutting themes in an integrated and coherent fashion.
  • Work with lawyers on proposals and capability statements to support key accounts, working alongside our Centre of Excellence and the Major Proposals team.
  • Work in both a strategic and operational capacity in areas such as strategic account management, coaching Client Team Connectors (lawyers assigned to key accounts), creativity in business and design thinking methods to support project(s) mobilisation.
