Description:

As the Business Development Manager - Industrial Automation Software, you will be instrumental in driving business growth. Leveraging your deep understanding of the industrial automation software sector and your exceptional sales acumen, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and foster long-term relationships with key clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive sales growth and market expansion in the industrial automation software sector.
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including industrial manufacturing companies, system integrators, and utilities, to understand their automation needs and propose tailored software solutions.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of leads and opportunities, tracking progress and providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify industry trends, customer pain points, and competitor activities, and utilize insights to develop compelling value propositions.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and closure, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and marketing, to develop and deliver customized solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote brand awareness, forge strategic partnerships, and generate new business opportunities.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in industrial automation software, emerging technologies, and industry regulations, and incorporate relevant knowledge into sales strategies.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and market insights to senior management, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as a trusted advisor and understanding their evolving needs.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of sales and marketing collateral, including presentations, proposals, and case studies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • Proven track record in business development and sales within the industrial automation software sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial automation processes, including SCADA, PLC, MES, and IoT technologies.
  • Strong business acumen, with a demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, and close complex deals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities.
