Description:
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager familiar with the construction industry who has the proven ability to build rapport with our existing and prospective customer base in addition to builders, specifies, industry associations and regulatory bodies. Reporting to the State Manager, our ideal candidate will hold a relevant bachelor’s degree, fosters flexibility, easily adapts to the evolving industry, has great attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple streams of work and can effectively work with others in a team or individually.
Your duties will include:
- Timely visits to customers, gather information that may affect sales progress so that it may be dealt with in a professional manner.
- Manage customer expectations by proactively providing accurate and timely updates on product lead times.
- Identify, in conjunction with the customer base, new Builder targets to align for long term supply and stability.
- Develop key relationships with Customer Service, Production Supervisors, Supply Chain Co-Ordinator, Account Managers, Operations Manager & State Manager.
- Assist in winning Builder jobs via collaboration and dual calling with our direct customer base. Increase conversion/strike rates of designs.
- Provide training in Wesbeam products and applications.
- Recommend solutions to problems encountered in the preparation of contracts and execute negotiations with customers.
- Manage day to day queries such as pricing requests and order status, technical support and quality enquiries, and sales activities.
- Work with Builders, Merchants, Fabricator personnel to promote Wesbeam’s brand position through, trade nights, exhibitions, and training sessions.
- Effectively maintain and manage CRM database.
- Provide regular and timely market intelligence to support Wesbeam’s pricing, product, and channel strategies.
- Develop a strong understanding of the building market. Define opportunities and implement strategies to grow Wesbeam’s market share within the QLD residential construction sector.
- Call on Builders, Specifies, industry associations, and regulatory bodies and be the face for Wesbeam in these selected sectors.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience within the building/construction industry in a similar role.
- A proven and successful track record within the building/ construction industry.
- Proven ability to read and interpret building plans.
- Previous experience using a CRM system.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of authority both internally and externally from the company.
- Intermediate computer literacy skills.
