Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of a diverse range of building products for the construction industry. They are a well-established and reputable company in the Australian construction industry, known for their high-quality products, commitment to innovation, and excellent customer service.
To join their already successful and growing sales team, they are now seeking a Business Development Manager with a background in architectural specification, to take on the commercial construction industry portfolio. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and maximizing sales opportunities.
Your responsibilites will include;
- Research and analyse building materials and construction systems to ensure high level product knowledge
- Coordinate with project teams to develop and review project specifications, as well as keep up to date with all new products.
- Review and evaluate bids and proposals from contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to develop sustainable and high-performance building solutions.
- Provide technical support and advice to project teams on building systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging technologies, building codes, and industry standards related to architectural design and construction.
- Attend project meetings and site visits to ensure that construction progress meets design specifications and quality standards.
- Develop and deliver presentations and training sessions on building materials, systems, and specifications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain product and vendor databases, including the review and approval of new products and materials.
To be considered for this role;
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is desired.
- Experience in architectural specification writing and construction document production, preferably in a consulting or design firm.
- Strong knowledge of building materials, systems, and construction methods, including experience with sustainable and high-performance building design.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, building information modeling (BIM), and other relevant software tools.
- Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to develop and review construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
