This newly created role based on growth allows you to be based on the South East Coast, Queensland, working remotely. The role will be a combination of Account Management (retention of key accounts) and Business Development that will require strategy development to increase market share.
The position is in the Blue Heeler Group, a subcontractor to Insurers to provide damage assessments, reports, quotes and on approval of quotes, direct and execute repairs and replacement to constructions that involves electrical, plumbing, structural and painting trades work. The Blue Heeler Group operates in the Greater Brisbane area including Ipswich and South-East QLD. The position liaises with both the Insurer and in complex cases also with the Insured.
Reports to the Managing Director. Liaises with Project Managers, Site supervisors and Insurers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create and maintain a portfolio of ‘trusted advisor’ relationships including regular visits to maintain relations and to understand customer and market requirements to the following stakeholders to achieve business growth and objectives: Insurers, Suppliers and major Service Providers
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as engineering, manufacturing, technical and operations to create innovative solutions for clients.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site supervisors and Insurers in relation to: Delays in completion of a project or variations on contract; Estimated completion times; Cash settlements.
- Develop annual sales and marketing plans, growth strategies, identify and map business strengths and customer needs, add products and services to the company mix when needed and as identified, contact potential new insurer clients, tender to join new insurer panels, represent the business with Insurers.
- Draft business proposals to Insurers and Insurer tender board applications; attend together with Senior Project Managers, the compliance training sessions provided by Insurers; provide specialist advice on the company products and/or services to Insurer companies.
- Review quotes from Project Managers and Site supervisors to confirm accuracy and assist Project Managers and Site supervisors to draft complex quotes. Develop complex bids and negotiate with clients to close high quality deals in collaboration with internal support functions.
- To negotiate both the technical and commercial details of the proposals and close the sale on all enquiries within acceptable company limits, maximising margins wherever possible.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity using CRM Tool and prepare regular forecasts and reports to ensure effective forward planning and management in relation to resources and contractors.
- Develop and monitor an effective sales engineering process that leads to an increase in: month-over-month/year-over-year revenue, number of leads qualified, units sold/profit margins, customer lifetime value, and win rates.
Skills
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- At last one year’s working experience in and across Civil Infrastructure, Construction or Engineering Consultancy in a leadership or as an account or business manager
- Ability to prepare reports and be proficient at analysing data, building reporting and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Advanced computer literacy and an understanding of Prime Eco System, Solera, Excell and XERO.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within the region.
