We are looking for a Business Development Manager – Nutrition (12 months contract) who will be responsible to identify potential retail food products that could be manufactured at Unilever under a 3rd party arrangement. Scope includes both retailer private label products and branded products that are seeking a co-pack partner solution. The capability of the team and existing infrastructure at Unilever spans a wide range of both liquid and dry food products, supported with technologies that can satisfy a broad range of potential partners products.
Role Responsibilities:
The overall ambition is to secure approx. 3-5 high level co-packing contracts, and creation of a 3-year manufacturing pipeline for Tatura. To enable this, the BDM will;
Drive to conclusion any 3PM options that are currently in the pipeline
Research, then establish a target list of 3rd parties (Customers) whose portfolio matches Tatura capability and understand tender potential/timings and dates of renewal/pitch opportunities
By the Unilever key point of contact with any prospective 3rd party, and facilitate all Unilever engagements
As the scope of this role will require the Business Development Manager to engage with multiple functions within Unilever, it will be critical to establish effective communications, and as required, meeting routines to progress the required workflows.
Development, and subsequent maintenance of prospective 3rd party client (Customer) list
Stewardship of any commercial communications with prospective 3rd parties
Stewardship of creation, through to submission of any Unilever approved 3rd party tender response
direct engagement with Unilever functional teams to work up offer, pricing, terms etc
present business cases for approval to Nutrition & Supply Chain leadership. Be able to articulate value creation for Unilever
Stewardship of internal business review routines of any active 3rd party agreements
Stewardship of engagement (cadence to be determined) between key Unilever & 3rd party stakeholders during the term of any agreement
Rolling 12-18 month business plan to be submitted to Nutrition & Supply Chain leadership on a quarterly basis
Development on internal business case documents as required
Track record of delivery in Customer / Business Development roles
Clear delivery of successful business results
Proven strength in business acumen (to deliver quality and precision in external communications to prospective 3rd parties)
Track record of effectively working in a cross functional environment
The scope of this role will be ideally suited to an individual that is entrepreneurial by nature and has a pioneering spirit
Previous experience in creation of business tenders
Understanding of food product manufacturing would be beneficial, however not a pre-requisite
