We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to join the distribution team at our growing managed funds business Lakehouse Capital. Lakehouse Capital, which is part of The Motley Fool family of companies, was founded in 2016 and has around $850 million in funds under management.

Lakehouse is the investment manager of two managed funds, both of which are offered in Australia and New Zealand. Lakehouse stands out from its peers for its long-term focus, growth orientation, diverse workplace and investor base, and strong backing via its multinational parent company. The right person for this role is energetic, organised, and a good manager of their time. Lakehouse is headquartered at 20 Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD. The business operates in a virtual-first environment, thus this role can usually be executed upon from anywhere within New South Wales, however, the person can work from the office at their leisure and in this role will be required to meet with clients and host events in Sydney periodically and thus the right candidate should have the expectation of coming into the Sydney CBD at least sometimes.

Candidates must currently reside in-country and have the proper visa to work in Australia.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engaging and servicing existing and potential clients via email and over the phone.
  • Creating, maintaining, and distributing marketing materials including fund literature, investor letters, presentations and more.
  • Create digital content for the website including podcasts and videos
  • Manage and optimize email communication programs designed to increase funds under management, reader engagement, and investor loyalty.
  • Planning and organising events with current and potential investors.
  • Follow up and proactive communication with prospects in the Wholesale channel
  • Management of the CRM system
  • Diving into a range of Distribution matters.
