Description:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with a dedicated panel of Vero brokers. BDMs work collaboratively with underwriters, claims and credit teams to deliver customer-focused service, support and issue resolution. BDMs are responsible for joint objective setting with Brokers and following through on all supporting activities (in house, at broker offices and other venues) to ultimately deliver GWP retention, profitable growth and broker satisfaction.
- Build and maintain operational relationships with key staff in broker panel offices (in line with established service and value propositions) and develop an appropriate understanding of each broker's business
- Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships to ensure broker service is customer focused
- Develop SMART objectives and related activities that focus on the achievement of retention, growth and satisfaction
- Coordinate, prioritise and manage activities to maximise outcomes
- Resolve broker queries and requests delivering responsive quality outcomes giving consideration to broker and internal needs, objectives and constraints.
- Prospect to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
- Successful insurance experience - Highly desirable
- Successful sales experience – Desirable
- Knowledge of the Insurance Broking market - Highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative commercial partnerships, relationships and networks
- Ability to modify communication style to suit audience and setting
- Demonstrated ability in collaboratively developing, monitoring and achieving commercial business plans/strategies with SMART objectives and activities.
