Description:
The Director Operations & Business Development is an exciting new role responsible for leading Full Stop Australia’s operational and business development activities in a period of growth to ensure organisational excellence and sustainable development. This is a multi-faceted, highly strategic role that provides leadership and business advice and support across the organisation through strategic planning, systems development, workflow management, people and culture development, diversity and inclusion, information technology, marketing, fundraising and finance.
The primary functions of the position will be to lead the Operations and Business Development Team with support from a range of external consultants and to provide strategic operational leadership throughout the organisation, fostering innovation, excellence, efficiency and collaboration. Specifically, the Director Operations & Business Development will be accountable for the following:
- Manage and oversee the organisation’s administration and asset systems and administrative staff responsible for:
o Reception
o Administrative systems
o Setting up of appointments, conferences and managing of meeting rooms
o Managing of office expenditure and budgets
o Asset and property management
o IT, phone systems, hardware and software
o Office supplies
- Provide strategic leadership in the development of annual operational plans and budgets.
- Develop and oversee the organisation’s Human Resources/ People and Culture Strategy, including encompassing recruitment, performance management, wages and conditions, workplace wellbeing, employee engagement, and industrial/employee relations, and ensure HR practices are functional, efficient and current.
- Lead, influence, monitor, and contribute to the development of an organisational culture that is congruent with the organisation’s values, goals and practices.
- Monitor for quality staff orientation, professional development and staff compliance to organisational policies and practices, including the Full Stop Australia Code of Ethics
- Ensure the organisation’s employment practices and processes are legal and ethical, and that the organisation is WH&S trained, compliant and aware.
- Develop and oversee the organisation’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
- Develop, maintain and monitor the organisation’s risk management framework & plan in accordance with the risk appetite set by the Board and CEO.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risks in accordance with the organisation’s risk appetite.
- Ensure legal compliance of the organisation through engagement of pro bono and contracted legal services as required.
- Oversee the management of the organisation’s finances including regular reporting, budgeting and management of any audits.
- Work with the other Executives to ensure fraud prevention practices are in place.
- Work with the other Executives to expand and diversify the funding and income base.
- Manage contracts and performance of outsourced operational service functions to ensure quality service delivery.
- Ensure effective and efficient IT and communication services to and ensure the functions of the organisation are technology enabled.
- Ensure regular and effective communication between the Operations and Business Development Team and other areas of the organisation.
- Coordinate the production of reporting for the above functions and provision of any information required by the CEO.
