The Role
- Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards.
- Mark out steel components in accordance with engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
- Cut, notch, drill, ream, shape and form steel components in accordance with engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards.
- Fit up and adequately tack weld steel components with correct dimensions, edge preparations, weld preparations, weld gaps and to tolerance indicated in engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards.
- Fit required lifting lugs, bracing, supports aids to ensure integrity of steel component when moving or rotating with gantry cranes.
- Perform welding techniques including, but not limited to, MMAW, FCAW, MIG
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following
- Trade Certificate in Boilermaking, Metal Fabrication or Plateworker
- Workshop experience
- Post Apprenticeship
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience with similar structures, specifications and standard
