Behaviour Support Practitioner

 

Description:

Our Behaviour Support Practitioners are Human Rights warriors! They work to understand customer needs and goals and provide tailored support to meet these. They ensure our organisational purpose is demonstrated to our customers and others on a daily basis. This role is Perm FT or PT based in Parramatta.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • To develop and implement individually designed customer related support plans within specified timeframes
  • To handle complex case management
  • To plan, deliver and evaluate behaviour supports relating to the individual’s needs in line with relevant legislative and ethical requirements
  • To plan, implement and review training and support plans for customers, support staff, families and carers in positive behaviour support and specialist topics as required.
  • To independently apply advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • To employ the principals of evidence based practice to all service delivery
  • To provide support which reflects the Disability Services Standards, Child Safety, NDIS and other relevant legislative requirements and to report any potential breaches to Aruma’s management
  • To actively promote Aruma’s Purpose and Values in everyday work and in the community
  • To follow, contribute and work in a culture committed to continuous improvement of the Aruma’s work environment
  • To follow and implement Work Health & Safety (WHS) guidelines and instructions
  • To undertake administrative tasks necessary for the role including maintaining appropriate documentation and systems to safeguard the wellbeing of the customers supported
  • To work positively and collaboratively as a member of a multi/trans-disciplinary team and respect team values and participate in learning and development opportunities
  • To supervise and train assistants, students and less experienced staff when assigned, ensuring the maintenance of professional, clinical, ethical and WHS standards
