An exciting opportunity has become available for a customer centric Audio Visual Project Engineer to come join our friendly team.

Reporting to the Audio Visual Manager, the primary role of the position is to ensure efficient project management of design and provision of high quality, responsive and effective technology solutions to clients across the organisation, and in particular to:
 

  • contribute to project delivery and coordinate AV design artefacts in a wide range of technology projects and learning space re-energisation programmes.
  • provide technical expertise and advice to the senior management group of IT, ePMO and Learning Transformation Unit and other members of the academic community;
  • Lead discrete IT related programme of works such as life-cycle management upgrades and investigations;
  • contribute to the catalogue of AV/IT solutions and their underpinning architectural standards;
  • identify technologies to enhance pedagogical outcomes in Swinburne learning spaces;
  • contribute to the direction and operations of the Digital Workplace Experience Group in IT by providing ideas for improvement, cost savings, information on trends, etc.


The Digital Workplace Experience function focuses on the delivery of standardised audiovisual solutions and day to day support to staff and students. The team works collaboratively across the IT function, partnering with other teams in the provision of a high quality, responsive and seamless service, and works to continuously improve services.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrable experience managing large AV projects & programmes; building partnering relationships with external building architects, service consultants, project managers and internal Project Management Teams.
  • Extensive experience providing technical leadership and solution architecture for audio visual projects
  • Commitment to industry Certification (e.g. AVIXA, AMX, Crestron, Extron, Cisco, Polycom, Biamp)
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with excellent stakeholder relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from both technical, non-technical and management backgrounds
  • Demonstrated application of AV/IT solutions architecture, design, support and management of technologies and associated software at a large enterprise level
