Automation Engineer

Description:

Work with business groups in Technical Operations and Product teams to automate key business processes through the configuration, implementation and deployment of strategic automation and connectivity solutions while also providing agile development of existing tools and services.

Your day in the life of a Dev Ops Automation Engineer at Optus
 

• Identifying automation/process development and improvement opportunities
• Ownership and ongoing support of existing in-house developed code
• Ensuring code is adequately tested, documented and represented within the Configuration Management Database
• Conduct knowledge transfer and how-to sessions (i.e. When and how to utilise a script that has been developed)
• Collaborating with other TechOps teams to understand problems & needs for improving efficiencies through automations and developments (Requirements gathering)
   

Your Skills To Pay The Bills
 

• Strong experience with a number of scripting/programming languages such as PowerShell, .NET, Python/Perl/Bash and extremely comfortable interacting with vendor API’s
• Degree Qualified within Computer Science/ Engineering
• Previous experience working in a large complex organisation highly regarded
• Cisco Process Orchestrator & Prime Services Catalogue
