  • Full-time preferred, but open to considering part-time
  • Looking for both fixed-term and casual staff
  • Work as part of a close-knit team delivering the national Autism Connect service
  • Provide independent information, advice, support, and referrals to the autism community
  • Hybrid workplace with office based in Richmond

As an Advisor for the Autism Connect service, you will provide independent and evidence-based information, referrals, and advice to Autistic people, their families and carers, health professionals, researchers, teachers, employers and the broader community.

You will do this across several channels including telephone, email, and webchat. Excitingly, you will also contribute to the development of high-quality, evidence-based autism resources that respond to the needs of the autism community.

Autism Connect advisors offer expert advice in many areas, including:

  • exploring autism and Autistic identity
  • assessment and diagnosis support
  • school and education
  • the NDIS
  • transition to employment
  • behaviour and communication strategies
  • referrals to services peer support connections
  • finding autism-friendly places and events
  • making environments accessible.

You don’t need to be an expert in every single area to apply, but we’d like you to be skilled in at least one area. We are committed to developing you in the other areas through a holistic and comprehensive induction and ongoing training program. This includes supporting you to learn about our technical telephony and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
