Audit & Risk Committee Member

Description:

The purpose of the Audit & Risk Committee is to provide guidance to the Uniting AgeWell Board in its role of governing the audit and strategic risk programs of the organisation in a manner that aligns with UA strategies, policies and procedures in an economic, social and environmentally sustainable and responsible manner. The Committee specifically provides assurance in the key areas of internal and external audit, risk management and internal control, legislative compliance.

As a voluntary independent member of this important committee the ideal candidate will have:

• An understanding of corporate governance;
• Experience in the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management at an executive level and the internal audit function;
• Risk management experience and knowledge of the aged care, retirement village and/or health care sectors preferred;
• Experience working with an external audit provider;
• An understanding and knowledge of the preparation and review of annual statutory accounts
• Capacity to contribute proactively to strategic risk management direction; and
• A willingness to understand and respect the relationship of Uniting AgeWell with the Uniting Church in Australia
