This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with 4+ years PQE to join our rapidly growing Australian Intellectual Property and Technology practice group in a front end commercial transactions role.

You will have the opportunity to work with national and international clients and colleagues on a complex and interesting range of matters spanning a wide range of industries and technologies.

Dentons’ IP&T practice in Australia covers the full range of IP commercialisation and licensing, information technology, supply and distribution, franchising, procurement and privacy work as well as trademark and patent prosecution and portfolio management, copyright and designs, domain names, IP litigation and dispute resolution.   Most of our work has a significant international component and is with blue-chip clients – and the role has a lot of variety.

You will work collaboratively with leading IP&T practitioners in a highly cohesive and friendly team. The practice is growing very fast and you will have excellent career growth and development opportunities, including the potential to work internationally with colleagues in the Dentons family around the world. You will have direct contact with clients and be mentored by the senior lawyers in the practice.

About You

We are looking for a full-time lawyer with the following capabilities and attributes:

• Experience in transactional commercial contracts, IP or IT matters including drafting contracts and licences, assignments, software or franchise agreements;
• Expertise in privacy or technology law or franchising is particularly highly regarded;
• Ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients;
• High attention to detail;
• Highly organised with computer literacy;
• An innovative problem solving mindset with strong research skills;
• Proactive and able to project manage;
• Collaborative and with strong communication skills;
• Commercial.
