Description:
The Assistant Financial Accountant will be assisting the Senior Financial Accountant and the Accounting Manager with a range of accounting responsibilities including, financial accounting and compliance functions for FTI's Australian group of entities. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.
What You'll Do
Working closely with the Financial Accounting team, the Assistant Financial Accountant will have the following responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end close to ensure that financial statements are accurately stated and deadlines are met
- Processing month-end journal entries and preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with month-end revenue review, ensuring revenue recognition is in accordance with US GAAP and processing reserves
- Performing lease calculations in accordance with the accounting standards
- Recording intercompany accounting transactions and the related reconciliations across entities
- Maintaining fixed assets register, both accounting and tax, and recording monthly depreciation expense
- Assist with performing quarterly income tax calculations and tax instalment payments
- Monthly variance analysis on both Segment and Regional basis
- Assist with preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements and annual Fringe Benefit Tax returns
- Assist with collation of data for External and Internal audits including SOX audits
- Various reporting including, trend analysis and other ad-hoc reporting
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
- Studying towards CA/CPA, with 1 year of accounting experience
- Professional services industry experience preferred
- Working Knowledge of ERP system preferred
- Tax knowledge across direct and indirect Australian taxes
- Good eye for detail
- Commitment, self-motivation and deadline-driven

- Ability to interact and engage with key stakeholders
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
