Mater Business Advisory has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join the Business Advisory team. This is a permanent full-time role.
The Business Advisory team reports to Director of Business Advisory and supports the organisation as the primary interface between the Business and Finance.
This role will help create value through the provision of information, insights and influence to the business. The Assistance Business Partner reports to and supports the Finance Business Partner(s).
- Support the Finance Business Partners to understand and analyse key drivers of the business
- Support the Finance Business Partners to prepare the month end financial management reports
- Identify and communicate trends and opportunities for improvement and identify financial risk to the business
- Review and analyse financial performance and provide financial input to development of interventions related to business performance
- Use tools available (Clinical costing / Power BI etc.) to analyse trends and provide insight on financial impact / opportunity for the Business Advisory Team
- Support the Business Partners to work with the business areas to develop business cases, complete financial modelling and conduct planning activities
- Analyse financial and non-financial information to provide insight into the performance of the departments and facilities to enhance decision making
- As required, develop models to analyse performance and drivers of specific business areas.
- Support the Finance Business Partner in planning and managing the annual operating budget process for their portfolio, including building the annual budget using the parameters and system as defined by Group Finance
- Support the Finance Business Partner in the development and implementation of finance best practices and build financial literacy
- Relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in accountancy, economics, commerce, finance or a related discipline
- Professional standing for current membership or eligibility for membership of a recognised Australian accounting body
- Experience forming relationships with internal stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience leveraging ERP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation and report writing skills to clearly explain complex issues
- Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisation skills Health Specific or complex sector background (desirable)
- Experience in business partnering in a large size complex business (desirable)
