Our client, a Federal Agency, is looking for an Assistant Director Executive and Corporate Communications - EL1 Level to join their team. The Assistant Director Executive and Corporate Communications - EL1 Level is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the agency.
The position is an important team leadership position within the agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.

As an Assistant Director Executive and Corporate Communications - EL1 Level you will be:

  • Contributing to the strategic direction of projects and business improvement initiatives, driving the strategic and co-ordinated management of targeted communications and engagement activities.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders through a communications and engagement business partnering model within the agency, guiding the team with best practice ways to provide advice, quality assurance and support to business areas to meet their communication objectives.
  • Leading staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities that support Corporate Plan objectives.
  • Using reporting metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing high-quality, clear and accessible written content that meets the needs of participants and other audiences and aligns with the agency's brand.
  • Scanning and interpreting a complex government and social landscape to identify and mitigate reputational risks associated with, communication and engagement activities.
  • Identifying and mitigate reputational risks associated with communication, engagement and business activities.
  • Fostering creativity and innovation in content creation across a range of channels, sharing best practice and new skills in the team.
