As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Penfield, you'll leverage your expertise and leadership to inspire and motivate your centre team, driving continuous improvement across all areas of centre operations. Collaborate with our dedicated leadership team, forge respectful and reciprocal relationships with families, and actively engage with the local community networks.
In This Role, You Will
- Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
- Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team
- Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence
- Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide

- Licenced for 85 children, catering to all early learning age groups from 6 weeks to 5 years.
- The centre is open from 6.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
- Located behind the RAAF base, on a 12-acre block in a rural market farming area.
- The centre boasts large grassed outdoor play areas for the children. Additionally, have a chicken coop and vegetable garden where the children actively participate in caring for the chickens and tending to the garden.
- Led by Centre Director Annette who has been director since 2004. Annette is fortunate to lead a team of experiences and highly qualified early childhood educators, many of whom have been at the centre for many years.
- Our learning philosophy is that the experience should be fun, developed in partnership with parents and meeting the individual needs and interests of the child.
