Assistant Accountant

 

Description:

You will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of our business by delivering comprehensive finance and accounting support for the APAC region. Your attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities will be crucial in contributing to the overall success of the organisation. This is a full-time role based in either our Melbourne or Sydney office.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Revenue Recognition (Support to Financial Controller and Finance, Planning & Analysis Manager)
 

  • Month-end revenue recognition process and WIP reconciliations
  • Liaising with project managers regards WIP status
  • Revenue and WIP reporting
     

Digital Solutions Support
 

  • Management of 3rd party licencing transactions
  • Ensure correct revenue recognition
  • Processing and tracking of licence renewals for annual maintenance and subscriptions
  • Invoicing clients for renewal
  • Other – Monthly WIP and reporting, reconciling licence charges from suppliers
     

Tax
 

  • Annual Income Tax – assistance with Asia Pacific tax returns, including tax module for Australian operations
  • GST Returns – for Australia (Monthly), NZ & Malaysia (Bi-monthly) and Singapore (Quarterly)
     

Other End of Month
 

  • Intercompany Invoicing
  • Fixed Asset – assess new purchases for Asset Register, generate asset records
  • Other processing including Balance Sheet reconciliations, depreciation & leasing processing
     

Audit – Year End
 

  • General Assistance – assisting with audit listing requirements for Woolpert APAC companies
     

Other
 

  • Cash flow forecasting and reporting
  • Accounts Payable back-up – processing, bank payments, new vendors where required
     

You may also be required, within your skills, qualifications, and experience, to undertake other responsibilities and perform other duties or projects from time to time as the Company may require meeting its operating needs.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for
 

  • At least two years experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Competence in developing and maintaining sound co-worker relationships.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and concepts
  • MS Office including competency in Word and advanced skills in Excel.
  • High attention to detail, accurate and able to work under pressure.
  • University Degree – Accounting or Business an advantage.
