Asset Protection Inspector

 

Description:

As an Asset Protection Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring Council assets are protected from the impacts and effects of development and other construction activities through the administration of the various Permits & asset protection systems. You will also be overseeing external contractors delivering roads, footpath, kerb and channel reinstatement activities.

This will be a 2 month temporary contract assignment to cover leave within the team.

Duties Will Include But Not Limited To
 

  • Administer Council’s reinstatement, road opening and street protection systems.
  • Liaise with and respond to customers, Council staff, contractors, developers and the community regarding all aspects of Asset Protection.
  • Conduct inspections, issue asset condition reports, scope and quote for rectification work and resolve service issues.
  • Respond to customers and other stakeholders promptly delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Provide road maintenance technical advice to ensure all works undertaken are to industry best practice
     

Requirements include:
 

  • Relevant experience in local government
  • White Card certification
  • Current valid Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Ability to provide direction and supervision to service authorities, contractors and developers
  • Skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising own work
  • An understanding of engineering construction standards, codes of practice and relevant legislation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and prepare external correspondence of a routine nature.
  • Physically fit to undertake duties as outlined in this position description.
